Our glassKote process can be used on many different types of glass. Including:
Etched, Slumped, Chemically & Heat Strengthened, Toughened, Sand Blasted
Regrettably, there is no Code that insists that safety glass be used for splashbacks other than behind a heat source. Wherever technically possible however we recommend the use of toughened safety glass.
Toughened glass should carry the Australian Standards markings in one corner, however most installers request that the stamp be removed as it's usually quite visible and unsightly. If you are unsure whether toughened glass has been used, you can insist to see paper documentation as the "Code" does require that installers keep accurate records. Also, if the glass has notches (e.g. to cut around over head cupboards etc), then the corners will always be rounded and not sharp.
A piece of glass after recieving the glassKote process can be worked in many ways. Including:
Glued, Drilled, Notched, Cut, Beveled
